5th Grade Kindness Retreat
The Nobles County Integration Collaborative will be hosting the 5th Grade Kindness Retreat for local 5th grade students in six school districts. (Adrian, Ellsworth, Fulda, HL-O, RL-B and Worthington) The event will take place at two different locations for two days. We have also invited 9th-12th students from all those member district schools to volunteer as small group leaders.
Over the two days, we will have a total of 374 fifth grade students and 70 high school leaders. NCIC is collaborating with Youth Frontiers to be facilitators. The students will engage in a high-energy day filled with dancing and singing, they will break up into small groups, led by the high school students, and discuss issues that are going on in the schools. The purpose of the event is to provide our fifth grade youth with “tools to develop empathy, promote kindness and prevent bullying.” – Youth Frontiers
NCIC staff is excited to see the students integrate from the different schools. We are excited to see how much the students take away by the end of the day.
