Softball Camp

 

Get your bats and gloves ready for softball camp.  Rosalie Hayenga, MN West Head softball coach will lead you in four days of fun and skill building in the game of softball.  This camp will cover the basics of throwing, catching, hitting, grounding, and more.  More advanced skills will be covered depending on ability levels.  Participants are asked to bring their own glove and a bat if they wish.  All participants will receive a t-shirt.  Sign up now for this new opportunity!

Volleyball Camp (Gr. 5 – 7)

 

 Improve your volleyball skills this summer in a fun and challenging Volleyball camp!  You will work on serving, passing, setting, and blocking.  Offensive and defensive tactics will also be taught.  The first half of each day will focus on skills training; the second half will allow time for actual game play and learning through game situations.  The camp is designed primarily for the grades listed, some exceptions may be made with instructor's approval.

Wrestling Camp

 

Join us and learn wrestling skills from former Division II National Champions.  Jason Reitmeier, head wrestling coach at Augustana College, along with assistant coach Tom Meester, will lead all participants in this week long camp.  Participants will learn basic wrestling techniques, drills, and also have fun.  If you currently wrestle, or would like to wrestle, you won't want to miss this opportunity!

Trojette Dance Camp (Grades K – 5)

 

Trojette Dance Camp is for kids in grades K - 5 who want to learn the basics of dance.  Jumps, leaps, turns, and kicks will be covered as well as some fun new dances.  The Trojette Dance Team Coach Heidi Fritz will be the instructor.  Dancers from the varsity Trojette Dance Team will assist with instruction.  Each participant will receive a practice tape of the music used in class.  Invite a friend to join you for a week of hot tunes and cool moves!

Junior Trojan Gymnastics Camp

Children with lots of energy will love gymnastics lessons.  Beginning gymnasts will do many activities to improve flexibility, coordination, and balance.  Emphasis will be on terminology, body positions, and tumbling skills.  Boys are welcome to participate.  Varsity gymnasts assist with instruction.  Please register early, so t-shirts can be ordered.  Gymnasts participating in more than one week of camp will receive a $5 discount on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th camp registrations.

Trojan Gymnastics Camps

 

Catch the thrill of gymnastics;  sign up for one, two, three, or all four weeks of Trojan Summer Gymnastic camps.  On the first day of camp, students will be divided into small groups based on ability.  Gymnasts will be rotating through various stations involving all four gymnastic apparatus, plus work on lead up drills and skills at various stations to improve on current skills and learn new ones.  These camps are designed for Beginner II, Intermediate, and Advanced students.  The ability to do a cartwheel is a prerequisite for participation.  Gymnasts participating in more than one week of camp will receive a $5 discount on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th camp registrations.

Going Batty (Gr. K -2)

 

Minnesota is home to seven types of bats.  Although they have a bad reputation, they do a wonderful job of eating mosquitoes and other insects.  We will also find out if there really are vampire bats and if we have anything to worry about.  Play a few bat games, make a bat craft and, when we're done, you might just feel a little bit batty!

Sandcastle Art

 

Get your shovels and buckets out and come to the beach at Centennial Park!  Join the Beach Nook staff for a fun afternoon of sandcastle building.  You will learn how to make a sandcastle using different items, as well as learn how to make different shapes and designs.  A picnic lunch including a sandwich and beverage will also be provided.  Participants will meet at the Beach Nook and area asked to bring buckets and small shovels if available.  See you at the beach!
