The Worthington School District tests students in grades Kindergarten – 8th grade in the areas of Reading and Mathematics utilizing a local assessment measure called MAP (Measures of Academic Progress).  These tests are not related to the MCAII tests that you are familiar with, but will provide us with solid information about your child’s educational performance.  The results will assist us in the development of programming that will meet the needs of the students within our district.

Each of the two tests administered take approximately one hour to complete.  The tests are administered on the computer with test scores being available to teachers within 48 hours.  This quick turn around in results allows us to make changes now rather than later.  The tests do not compare students, but assist us in identifying instructional levels for each student.  Please encourage your child to do his/her best.  Testing for Spring 2008 will test at Prairie Elementary March 10-28 and at Worthington Middle School May 12-23.
