| Backing Up On the Fly |
|
Backing up your work is simply storing copies of the same file in two or more different locations. Backing Up On the Fly is saving your document to a second location while you are creating/editing it. For this lesson I’m working on the assumption that you typically save to My Documents and you’re going to backup to “Your Name on Whs\Data\Staff\User…” on the server (or whatever your server name is)
First save/backup
File Save As Navigate to My Documents Select the desired folder Check document name Click Save File Save As Navigate to Your Name on Whs\Data\Staff\User… Select the desired folder Check the document name Click Save When it’s time to save/backup again –
File Save (you will be saving to Your Name on Whs\Data\Staff\User…) File Save As Navigate to My Documents Select the desired folder Click Save
Click “Yes” or “OK”
The next time
you save/backup –
File Save (you will be saving to My Documents) File Save As Navigate to Your Name on Whs\Data\Staff\User… Select the desired folder Click Save Click “Yes” or “OK” |
