Often I discover I accidentally installed a toolbar I do not want while
attempting to install another program. I also frequently find a
program or software someone has downloaded that is no longer needed.
Follow these steps to remove these unwanted programs. Click on
Start
(On a 98 or ME computer click on Settings)
Control Panel
Add Remove Programs
Look through the list. Does anything in there look like it
doesn't belong such as Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Gator, LimeWire,
etc. If you are uncertain, please do not remove the program.
After you have looked through the list a few times, it will become more
familar and you will know what does and does not belong. At the
bottom of the list, you may or may not see a long list of Windows
Updates. DO NOT Remove these. If you have any questions,
just ask your building tech person.
Click Change/Remove
If prompted, click ok or Yes to indicate
you really want to remove the program.
After the program is removed, you will return to the Add/Remove Programs
Screen. Either choose another program to remove or exit out of the
screen. |
