Creating a Web Folder from within Word

 

Create a blank Microsoft Word Document

 

Click on          

 

Save As Web Page

 

Click on the

My Network Places Icon (XP) on the bottom left side of the dialog box.

OR the

Web Folders Icon (Windows 98) on the bottom left side of the dialog box.

 

The following dialog box appears:

 

Click on the Yellow folder on the top of the dialog box with a “star” in the upper right corner.

 

 

Choose Create a Shortcut to an Existing Network Place (XP)

            Windows 98 users skip to next step

 

Beside Location: type in the entire path you were given to your web folder.  For example,

http://www.isd518.net/swcpawe/help

 

Press Tab (XP only) – this will put the name of your shortcut in the next cell

 

Click Finish

 

Go ahead and save the blank document in the folder.

 

You will now see your newly created folder under My Network Places.
