Attention all Juniors: This is the last week for magazine sales. You are a long way from your goal yet. Last week you brought in $2066.98 in sales. Continue talking to businesses, neighbors, family, and friends. Let's make this week an even bigger week for sales! The last day to turn in your orders and money is on Wednesday. Congratulations to the top sellers in magazine sales for last week. Please come to Mrs. Brunk's room, Room 113, immediately after school on Wednesday to claim your prize! You will be drawing for cash! AOK Club will meet Tuesday, October 21 @ 7:30.  AOK Club members who can help make table decorations for the Habitat for Humanity Banquet should meet in Mrs. Holinka’s room on Saturday, October 18th at 10:00.

Do you like to write poetry? Would you like to have your work published in the Trojan Times? Do you like prizes? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions—do we have a contest for you.  The Trojan Times is holding its first ever POETRY contest.  Submissions may be of any length and should be submitted to the editor at Stacy.Sauerbrei@isd518.net.  (Submissions must be received by November 5.)

FFA dues are $20 and due by Wednesday, October 15th.

 

Picture retakes will be October 15th from 7:50 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. in the cafeteria.  Any student that did not receive an ID should have their picture taken during the retakes.

 

AOK CLUB MEMBERS-If you were unable to make our meeting, there are sign up sheets outside room 503 for various upcoming activities discussed.  We need workers to man the Club booth for the Habitat for Humanity Supper on October 25th.  Please sign up today!!  Due to conflict in schedule over MEA break, we will hold our next meeting on October 21st, at 7:30 in room 503.  Christmas Green Sales will be started.  If you plan to attend the Spring Trip, you better plan to make this meeting too!  SEE YOU THERE!

 

ATTENTION JUNIORS: Remember to bring postcards/magazine orders to your homeroom teachers on the following turn in days for the magazine sale. Keep in mind...the more money your raise, the more options you have for prom this year!!!

Gymnastics Meeting:  Girls that would like to participate in gymnastics this year:  there will be a mandatory meeting on October 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in the High School cafeteria, for you and your parents.  Coach Reitmeir and Assistant Brittany Frisch will be covering rules, regulations and practice times. JUNIORS:  Reminder that the PSAT is scheduled for next Wednesday, October 15th.  We have a limited number of tests available, so if you plan to take it, please sign up in the Student Services office today.

 

Yale University will conduct 2 information sessions for students who are considering applying there for fall ’09—They will be held in Minneapolis and St Paul on October 19th & 20th.   Please see one of the counselors for more information.

 

SOPHOMORES!!  Got leadership skills?  If so, you may be eligible for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) seminar to be held in Spring 2009.  All sophomores are eligible to apply for this valuable opportunity.  Come learn more about it in your Student Services office!

 

The 13th Annual Southern Minnesota Chicano-Latin College Fair will be held on October 24th at the Centennial Student Union, Minnesota State University, Mankato.  The program will begin at 9:00 am and will end at 2:00 pm.  The main mission of the College Fair is to encourage and motivate Chicano-Latin youth to pursue educational opportunities, and increase their access to higher education.  Please see one of the counselors if you are interested in attending.

               

ALL COLLEGE VISITS REQUIRE PRE-APPROVAL.  Seniors planning college visits MUST stop by Student Services and obtain a "College Visit Permission Form".  This form needs to be completed and approved 3 DAYS prior to your scheduled college visit.  Students must obtain a pass to be dismissed from class.
