JULY 2007 NEWSLETTER

 

I hope that you all have had an enjoyable summer!  Enclosed you will find the final version of the summer band schedule.  I have made a few changes from my earlier “tentative” schedule to accommodate the high school students who will be working with our band.  So far there are 85 students signed up for summer band, so the extra help will be greatly appreciated! 

 

SUMMER BAND REGISTRATION: There is still time to sign up for summer band!  You can download a registration form from the middle school band website and drop the form off at the middle school or mail it to: Worthington Middle School, 1401 North Crailsheim Road, Worthington, MN 56187.

 

VALLEYFAIR TRIP: The Valleyfair trip is scheduled for Thursday, August 23rd.  We leave the middle school at 7:30 AM that day.  We march, eat, enjoy the rides and arrive back at the middle school at approximately 10:00 PM.

 

COLOR GUARD: Be sure to sign up for summer band.  If you plan on being in the color guard in the fall, you need to attend summer band.  If you have a vacation conflict, please be sure to let Mr. Andersen know.

 

MARCHING BAND MUSIC: We will be using “La Pantera” for marching band (memorized!).  If you need music, call or e-mail and I will mail the music out to you.

 

WAMBO: This year WAMBO (Worthington Area Music Boosters Organization) is paying for a catered lunch for our middle school students after they have marched at Valleyfair.  Please help show your appreciation by volunteering to help at the Swift Picnic Saturday, August 18.  Please contact Liz Berger at 376-5323 or Lisa Kelley at 372-2192.  If you prefer email, their addresses are:
