Project Ignition 2007

Nobles County Integration Collaborative

Youth from three Nobles County Integration Collaborative groups will collaborate on Project Ignition during the fall of 2007.  Dynamic 507, Six Steps Hip Hop and Youth Diversity Corps will each share their time and talents to produce a multi-dimensional, interactive presentation for their peers about safe driving practices.  The theme for the local project will be: Distractions are Deadly: Accept the Challange; Be the Change

Developing Leadership Skills and Planning for Project Ignition

Check Presentation

On September 10, 2007, a check presentation ceremony was held at NCIC.  Local State Farm agents Jason Vote and Kevin Lease presented a check for $2,000 to the youth to enable them to carry out their Project Ignition ideas.  NCIC youth are among 25 youth organizations in the nations selected by the National Youth Leadership Council to implement Project Ignition this year.

Save a Life Tour

On September 12, Nobles County Integration Collaborative co-sponsored the Save a Life Tour with the MN West Community & Technical College Student Senate.  College students and high school juniors from 5 area high schools were able to attend the presentation and participate in the interactive simulator-type experiences.

Showcase Performance for Area Residents

October 15, youth from all three groups joined forces to make their first public presentation, a Showcase Performance for area residents held at Minnesota West Community & Technical College.  The event was well attended and the message well-received.
