WHS BASS FISHING TEAM INFORMATIONAL / SIGN-UP MEETING:  Monday, February 4th at 7:00pm at the High School Cafeteria


PSEO Students:  You must return your first semester books as soon as possible.  If you already turned them in to Minnesota West, that is fine.  If you still have them, bring them to the WHS Student Services office.  If you are taking PSEO classes second semester, please bring a list to the WHS Student Services office of what books you have for second semester.  You must return those PSEO books to WHS at the end of second semester.  Students will be billed for any books that are not returned.


GRADUATION DIPLOMA INFORMATION:  Seniors, if you have not submitted a Name Verification Form please see Sarah Martin in the WHS office. This form is used to verify the spelling of your name for your high school diploma. The deadline is Friday, January 25. After that diplomas will be ordered and printed using the name recorded in Campus. Thank you!


Peru: Inca Adventure

Interested in traveling to Peru to visit Machu Picchu, Lima, Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and other unique sights?  Mrs. Wolyniec is planning an Explorica trip to Peru in July 2020.  There will be an information meeting on Monday, January 28 at 5:15 pm in Room 110 at the Middle School.  Come to the meeting to find out more about this opportunity!


NHS MEETING is Wednesday, February 6th at 7:30 am in the Media Center. Members please stop in the Media Center to sign Thank you cards for our speakers and sign up for Center for Active Living.


This year’s student and parent PSEO meeting will be Tuesday, February 12, at 4:00 pm. in the WHS cafeteria.  This meeting is required for all students and their parents if they are considering participating in the PSEO program next year.  Students who are already participating in PSEO this year are not required to attend.  10th Graders may participate, but are limited to taking only one career/technical education course.  11th Graders may participate if they rank in the top 1/3  of their class.  12th graders need to rank in the top ˝ of their class.  The PSEO program allows high school students to earn, at no cost, both high school and college credit for classes taken in college.


CAREER FAIR- February 15 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at WHS in the large gym.  All Juniors and interested seniors will be attending.


WEATHER RELATED SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our local Radio Stations and TV Cable 3 in Worthington will make announcements concerning late starts or school closings if the weather is inclement.  The Sioux Falls KELO and KSFY news stations and websites will also run school announcements.  Stop by the WHS office to give us your name & phone number so you can receive a Shoutpoint message to your cell and/or home phone. Students should report to 1st Block at 10:00 if there is a 2-hour late start.

MEDIA CENTER:  This is a reminder that if you choose to come to the Media Center during lunch, you WILL be expected to have something to do and it WILL be quiet because there are other students, faculty, and classes using the room at the same time. If you cannot follow this policy, you or the group you are with, will be asked to leave. Thank you, Mrs. Spieker

ACADEMIC DECATHLON meets after school twice a week in room 507 with Mrs. Wendt.  All are welcome to come check it out!

STUDENT COUNCIL will meet at 7:30 a.m. on the first Friday of each month in the Media Center.

TROJAN EXPRESS will meet on Monday mornings at 7:00 a.m.

DRAMA CLUB meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 3 to 4 in room 502

BPA meetings will be held every Monday after school in room 328 from 2:50 to 3:05

SADD will meet every Wednesday after school in room 329.  New members are always welcome!

STEM CLUB will meet on the 3rd Monday night of the month from 6-8PM in Room 514 and in the morning on the last Thursday of the month at 7:30AM in Room  514.
AOK CLUB meets EVERY Tuesday.

KNOWLEDGE BOWL meets every Tuesday and Thursday beginning on December 1st from 3-4 pm in Room 110

FCCLA meet every Wednesday in room 504 at 3:00. 

TROJAN ROBOTICS BUILD SEASON (Jan 9th-Feb 21st): M/W/F: 3:30pm-5:30pm, T/Th 6:00pm-8:00pm, Saturdays as needed.

TROJAN JAZZ! meets semester 2, during the months of February & March, every Tuesday & Thursday at 7:15am in the band room.

ALLIES-A group for those who identify with the LGBT-Q community and fellow students who support them.  We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month at 7:30am.  Please see either Lakeyta Swinea (School Counselor) or Lindsay Jenniges (Sped School Social Worker) in Student Services for meeting location or more information.




ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING EXTERIOR DOOR USAGE!  Please use your Student ID to enter in the North and South doors before 8:00. After school begins you will need to use the intercom to gain entrance into to school. During the lunch hours, Juniors and Seniors will be able to use their Student ID’s to enter the building.  Students are asked not to allow other students or visitors in the doors during our lock down hours.  Visitors must use the intercom in order to gain access to the building. Please help keep WHS secure for all of us!


BICYCLES:  If you ride a bicycle to school, please LOCK it in the bike rack located in the staff parking lot by the Ag department.  DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BICYCLE IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.  Thank you.

At various times during the school year, representatives from colleges and universities come to Worthington High School to visit with juniors and seniors regarding their post-secondary education options and needs.  Speaking with these college representatives is a great opportunity to learn more about degree offerings, scholarships, extra-curricular activities, financial aid, etc. Listed below are colleges/college representatives that are scheduled to be at Worthington High School.  College representatives will be located in the media center during scheduled dates/times.  If you wish to speak with a college representative, please sign-up in the student services office and obtain a pass to allow you to leave class.
