About Our Teachers

Ms. Buchholz

I'm Ms. Buchholz, the high school art teacher. I started teaching in 2013 and joined Worthington in 2014.  I'm excited to be teaching Intro to Art and Stained Glass courses this year. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family in Marshall, MN, where I grew up, and my friends in Brookings, SD, where I graduated from SDSU. I love cooking, bargain shopping, going to my cabin, spending time on the lake, and doing anything that involves being outdoors! I look forward to getting to know everyone and having fun!

Feel free to contact me via email.

Mrs. Holinka

As an Arts Educator and Arts Advocate for over 20 years, I wear many hats that confirm my dedication to Art Education and the benefits of Art to communities as a whole. I have taught art at WHS since 1996 & at MN West C&T College from 2001-2014. I've served on the Worthington Public Arts Commission as Chair, since it formed 2012. I am happily married to my husband Dave of 32 years and we have 3 grown children, Justin, Jessica & husband Alex Pass, and Jordan!

Through art education, I will do my best to make the world a better place! I do not only educate my students about art, I encourage them to connect to personal interests and life experiences. This helps to nurture their creative process, makes their art more meaningful and develops a personal voice through their artwork. Through sharing their art, they can see how it connects to others and the world around them.  I hope to help shape them into caring and respectful human beings, that see the importance of connecting to their community through the ARTS!  My students are active in the process of Public Art by designing for future project requests, or actual hands on work- creating with artist on our local projects.

In my classroom, I want it to be a fun environment where students are learning and growing. As innovative teachers in today's technological world, we are always trying to stay abreast of currents trends in education through the use of technology. We work cooperatively with the Perpich Arts Center to develop curriculum using best practices, to meet the needs of all learners we are so fortunate to teach!

Learning is lifelong. I remain an active learner and love to create art whenever I find time. I had a solo exhibit at the Nobles County Art Center, showcasing my photography and nature art in Sept. of 2016. I was recently selected to be included in a fellowship through Creative Communites Leadership Institute. My role is to work with a team of artists to develop a stronger community, by incorporating art into our local community development projects. We are excited to be working with ArtPlace America and the Southwest MN Housing Partnership!
