2.    False - The greatest shopping day of the year is the Saturday and Sunday just before Christmas.

3.    True- The missile command and the air defense of the United States has been tracking old Saint Nick for 50 years now.

4.    True – That loveable red nosed reindeer was created by department stores for promotional goods.

5.    False – The date of Jesus is not mentioned in the Bible. In fact, Shepherds simply would not be out in the fields with their flocks in December.

6.    False –In fact, the word “xmas” which comes from a Greek symbol X meaning “christos   In Greek this means Christ.

7.    True –The Puritans were not into celebrations and such. Around the 1600’s anyone celebrating Christmas in New England paid a five shilling fine.

8.    False – It is an urban legend that all started in 1919 when a two year old child died. Doctors mistakenly blamed poinsettias leaves. But if you ever decide to eat one, they taste really bad and they might give you a bad stomach.

9.    True – President Roosevelt was a tree huggin’ hippie.  Well, sort of.  He was a conservationist and he didn’t believe in needlessly cutting down pine trees.

10.True – Saint Nicolas was born around 280 A.D. near Myra, which is

in modern day Turkey. He was said to have given up all his wealth to the poor, by leaving small gifts at peoples homes.
