The Curse
of the ALC Mummy Student walking through the hallway during class time last Friday came upon an unusual sight. Dez Briski and Ryan White were busy wrapping Michael Denison up like a mummy. What was the deal? It was all part of Michael’s “Ancient Digs” project for Mrs. Schreiber’s independent study science class. Michael had spent the quarter studying the ancient Egyptians. He concluded his project with a report on the ancient Egyptian practice of mummification. (Continued à)

The
mummification of Michael Michael hit upon the idea of using himself as a walking visual aid. He had Dez and Ryan wrap him up like a mummy, then had Dez read much of his final report on mummification to the class. Michael managed to add a few comments despite the fact that his mouth was wrapped up quite tightly. Michael’s idea definitely had the effect grabbing the attention of the class. It’s not every day that a mummy comes walking into the classroom. Dez described Michael’s presentation as “unique.” She refrained from saying more. Ryan called the presentation “dizzying.” |

My
Exciting Day in By Michael Denison This last summer I was on the truck with my grandfather quite a bit and we got to see a lot of new places because we ran to the east coast a lot. This was somewhere I had never been. One day we were
stopped in downtown That is when I went back to the truck and waited for them to leave. It was about thirty minutes before they left; when they left they left in a hurry. This was obvious because both of them screeched their tires. Later on I found out why they were in such a hurry. It was because there were about four or five cop cars that just flew past our truck and went down where the two guys I saw. It turned out to be just as I thought – it was a drug deal. I later found out that there was a boat dock down there and it was a place where a lot of drug trafficking happens. |

Tracking Is it just us or does anyone else find
it absolutely amazing that the U.S. government can track a cow born in Canada
almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of
Washington, and determine exactly what that cow ate. They can also track
her calves right to their stalls, and tell you what kind of feed they
ate. But they are unable to locate 11 million
illegal immigrants wandering around in this country, including people
who are trying to blow up important structures in the The solution is soooo
obvious! Give every illegal immigrant a cow as soon as they enter
the country. -- Internet

Final
(deep) thoughts By Naythen Gross Cell phones are getting so far advanced in technology, that people prefer them over most game systems. People are so addicted to playing cell phone games that some people play them in shower. They must be pretty desperate. My thoughts on this are “Why?” This is insane!!!” Phones are supposed to be used to call people, not to play games. What’s going on? This country’s IQ is constantly dropping. People can go and buy an old Playstation for like $30. Instead they spend far more money buying the latest Cell Phone games. People in this country feel pressure to compete – everybody must “prove they are the best.” Games where the object is to win re-enforce this. Our society teaches us that we have to be “better than everybody,” and if we do that, we will be superior to every other person who has tried, and failed, to be number one. I really don’t know what to say about all this, except that I really think this world is going down. I mean, why use cell phones to play Games? Personally speaking, if I ever got a cell phone, I wouldn’t want one that’s better then everybody else’s, or can download songs on the phone. I would just like one to use in case of an emergency. |

Phone etiquette Turn it off: Know when to turn your phone off (during meetings, class, movies, worship, etc). Ask: Tell others at the beginning of the meeting that you are expecting an important call and ask their permission to keep your phone on. Quiet, please: Speak in a quiet voice. You want to be heard by the caller, not others in the room. Driving: Believe it or not it is unlawful in most countries to drive and talk on your cell phone. Why? Because it is dangerous. |

By Nohelia Hernandez Now days many people, especially young people,
are getting or planning to get tattoos. They do this because they think it’s
cool and many times it is. Most of the people go for the more simple tattoos,
others go for the more colorful ones, and of course some people just like to
tattoo their names. For many, tattoos are a tradition and they are important
to them. Many other people think that tattoos are
impropriate and a sign of rebellion. But the truth is that tattoos aren't
always signs of rebellion or whims of the moment. Sometimes they can
symbolize profound emotion or deep bonds. Many teenagers think that tattooing
is like smoking cigarettes, and, of course, sex. It's just another step in
growing up; sooner or later that question will pop up.

Five out of ten adults have some kind of
tattoos on their bodies. They might have put it on to have a reminder of some
moment in there life. In many countries it a tradition to wear tattoos like,

Dancing By Jookie X My favorite activity is dancing. I like dancing because it relieves my mind whenever I feel stress. It’s a workout that burns fat without exercising. In this essay I will tell you why dancing is my number one choice. This is something to do to keep busy. I get a lot of energy out of it. By the time I’m tired I start to feel hyper. After that I like to stretch my arms and legs. People use dancing in many different ways. These are many different forms of dancing, such as exotic dancing, cheerleading, and dance line. You have to be able to move your body in the right way. If you are flexible it’s easy to learn how to dance. On the other hand, I use dancing whenever I go clubbing. My friends and I love to go out at night because that’s when the fun time begins. (Continued à) |

from www.millan.net Strobe lights keep you grooving and they hype people up for the party. Clubbing is the best for me. If you ever feel fat, give dancing a chance. The more you dance the more attention you’ll achieve. Just believe in yourself you will not regret this. |
