Blanca Conchas first said she wanted to take her brother Eliseo out to a corn field, drop him off and leave him there.  Upon deeper contemplation, however, she decided to bake him a cake.

Amanda Rodriguez plans to take her daughter Mia trick-or-treating then going home to watch movies with her fiance.

Raul Gonzalez said he considered going around Worthington, scaring little kids, stealing their candy, and eating it in front of them.  He later decided that would be too monstrous, so he instead plans to hand out candy to all the kids who show up at his door.

Jairo Banegas first planned to go trick-or-treating, but later decided to help Raul hand out candy to little kids.

Nathan Gross plans to make spaghetti and hand it out the trick-or-treaters instead of handing out candy. You figure it out.  Then he plans to go to Sioux Falls to go to a party.

Bank robber humiliated by laughing clerk

By Ramon B.

A bank robber in the tiny European country of Croatia abandoned a bank hold up after the cashier laughed at his demand to “stick 'em up.”

The masked bandit entered the bank in Zagreb, Croatia, in plain daylight and demanded the teller to hand over the money.  Unfortunately for the robber, the teller began to laugh hysterically.

Why did the teller laugh?  She knew she was behind bullet proof glass, that’s why.  The amused bank employee first began to laugh, then rang for her boss and let him know she was being robbed, and finally phoned the Zagreb police department.

The humiliated robber turned away and left like a humiliated coward.  No word if he was apprehended later.

Ask Amber

Boys will be Boys;

Girls will be Girls

Dear Amber,

Yeah we (girls and boys) can both be really heartless but some people go too far. First the rumors start because of jealousy and then friends start splitting up. In my experience a certain guy who didn’t like me started saying stuff about me to one of my former girlfriends that wasn’t true, then that former girlfriend started in on the action. She lied about me to people and when I asked her about it, she just lied straight to my face. I hate people that stoop that low. But anyways, I really think that she should get over her problems and grow up. What do you think I should do?

Amber Answers:  In the long run she’s the one that loses, so you don’t worry dude. You’re better than that. You should just ignore those inquiries and just get a new girl… someone a little older this time, and more mature. And those guys sound like, as you said, jealous. You will come out the better person.

*****

Dear Amber,

Why is it more difficult for girls to hang onto friendships for an extended period of time?  If girlfriends get into an argument or fight about something, they immediately hate each other and don’t speak to each other ever again.  Guys on the other hand, have a quick disagreement, but then five seconds later, they’re cool and high fiving each other.  How can you explain this?

 (Continuedà)

Amber Answers:  That is because girls know how to hurt each other and they get dirty. When a girl is mad she goes for blood and she doesn’t care what is said as long as it really hurts the other person.

Guys on the other hand really are not that feisty and they don’t stay mad as long. However, some guys can get just as dirty as girls can, so it really depends on the person.

*****

Dear Amber,

On TV and in the movies, why is it that it’s more socially acceptable to see two women kiss one another, rather than two men.  Think about it, do you ever see two guys kissing in the movies? Why is that?

Amber Answers:  Women have always been the more touchy-feely sex.  They are mothers and grandmothers – the people who raise and nurture our children.  Everyone knows that women, in general, have a more caring nature.  Men on the other hand, are the more rough-and-tumble sex.  Hey are more likely to solve problems with their fists.  Women, on the other hand, are more likely to solve problems through discussion.  As the old saying goes, Men are from Mars (named for the Roman god of war) and women are from Venus (the Roman goddess of love).

Deep thoughts

By: Naythen Gross

Many people think school is dumb, and all that stuff, and don’t have a reason.  I’ve heard stuff like “I don’t want to go to school, ‘cause I want to sleep in” or “There is somebody there that I don’t like.”  Well, unlike most people, I have different real reasons to dislike school.

My first reason is that they don’t teach us the things we need to live.  If you want to be an English teacher, why should you need to know how to Chemically balance Ni2Ba4C3K?  I mean, you should learn the fundamentals up until high school.  Then you should decide what you want to be after you graduate and study that.

Another reason that I just really dislike school is because of what they teach you.  When I say “What” they teach you, I don’t mean what they teach you in certain classes.  ALL teachers in general teach you.  “Everybody is equal” “Everybody has the same opportunities,” “Freedom of speech” and all that.  But the funny thing, is when you try to voice your opinion, they never let you do it.

I was once in a science class and the teacher was telling us that we “evolved millions of years ago, and came from monkeys, and that the world is 10 trillion years old.”  When I heard that, I immediately raised my hand, and told her that I disagreed.  The teacher told us that we weren’t aloud to talk about “Creationism.”  My reply was “in that case, we shouldn’t teach evolution either.”

(Continued à)

Another complaint I have is that school conforms us.  They try to make everybody into one person.  This bothers me, because they don’t allow us to have our own opinions.  In some schools they even make you dress the same (with school uniforms).  And the funny thing about this is that they are trying to also teach us that everybody is different, and that we are our individuals.

I leave you with these lines from Pink Floyd:

We don’t need no education

We don’t need no thought control

No dark Sarcasm in the class room

Teacher leave them kids alone

Hey Teacher leave the kids alone

All in all your just another brick in the wall

All in all you it was just a brick in the wall.

(Pink Floyd, Another Brick in the Wall)
