DHMO: A threat to our way of life The latest threat to our peaceful American way of life has nothing to do with terrorism or criminal activity. The newest, most grave threat to life on this planet is an odorless, colorless chemical compound known as Dihydrogen Monoxide. Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO), also known as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, or Hydric Acid, is the key component in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds. DHMO can cause immediate death if inhaled. In its gaseous form, DHMO can cause severe burns. It is a major contributor in soil erosion. Prolonged exposure to DHMO can cause severe tissue damage in humans. So why hasn’t DHMO been banned? Some say such a ban would be impossible. They point to the fact that DHMO is a naturally occurring compound that can be found almost everywhere in fairly large quantities. What makes
DHMO so dangerous? One of the problems associated with Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is that the chemical compound is virtually indestructible. When atoms combine to form this compound, it is nearly impossible to break DHMO back into its basic atomic elements. The illustration below shows how radiation can be used to split a DHMO molecule into a hydrogen atom and a hydroxyl radical. Short of the use of radiation, however, DHMO molecules are likely to remain DHMO molecules for millions of years. For this reason, it maybe impractical to actually ban DHMO. However, efforts must continue to stop any additional DHMO from being manufactured.

in Lake Okabena Preliminary test have shown that City and County officials have remained quiet about the DMRI’s report. However, some individuals spoke on condition that their identity be kept confidential. Just what
is DHMO, anyway? Upon hearing of the dangers associated with Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO), those with a background in chemistry often ask, “Just what is DHMO, anyway?” DHMO is actually a very simple, though potentially deadly, compound. It possesses many benign characteristics, though it can often be extremely deadly. The substance occurs naturally when oxygen and hydrogen atoms combine. However, the combination must occur in precisely the right form. Dihydrogen refers to two hydrogen atoms. Oxide indicates to one oxygen atom. In other words, DHMO is a combination of Two hydrogen atoms with one oxygen atom. Both elements alone are somewhat unstable. But when they combine with one another, a hyperstable molecule with nearly indestructible characteristics result. DHMO is also known as Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric Acid. Its chemical abbreviation is H20. |
The other
side of the issue… In order to be fair and balanced, we must point out that not everyone is opposed to Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO). There are a few misguided individuals who actually think DHMO is beneficial. According to them, DHMO enhances the functionality, growth and health of many life forms, including humans. These individuals claim that use of DHMO actually enhances nature, and oppose efforts to ban the substance. Indeed, they insist that DHMO “has been a part of nature longer than we have,” and ask the following question: “What gives us the right to eliminate it?” You can click here to connect to this group’s website.
