Doing your
own music production By Somkhith Xayphantho Several weeks ago in the ALC Insider, there was an article that informed people about music. Readers learned that I am now working on the production of my music. At start, the music production was difficult because the team effort environment wasn’t there. Now, I’m actually stable with my music, so let’s see where my music production takes me… To record the music, I used Sony’s Acid Pro. 4.0, an audio mixer. The instrumentals and beats I use for the music are bought, made for me, or downloaded free from Soundclick. First, I listen to the beat and freestyle (rap from the head) to get used to the rhythm and beat of the instrumental. Then, the next thing I do is write my lyrics down in my lyric notebook, and practice the songs. Then I go back to make any changes or corrections I need to make. To get my music out for listeners and music critics, I post my music on my page at soundclick.com. Soundclick is a free music base where people post music. (Continued à) |
The
computer technology and the internet allows anyone with talent to become a
music producer There’s a wide variety in styles of music posted, from hard rock, country, hip-hop, to R&B etc… By posting music on the web, I get listeners’ feed back and commentary on the message forum. I can’t always expect positive feedback because the music world is a critical place. Sometimes I get negative feedback and sometimes I get positive feedback. In any event, producing my own music has been a learning experience and has been fun at the same time. You can connect to my music on sounclick.com by clicking here. Hope you enjoy it… |

Computer Tech By Javier Esqueda Modern computers can do a lot of things that are really interesting. You can chat with people from far away. You can talk to them as if using a phone. You can even see them with a webcam and talk to them at the same time. One of the most popular things done with computers is to download music and burn CDs. You can also download music into MP3 players. The latest computers allow you to burn your own DVD without having to go out and buy one. You can also do a lot of editing of pictures, videos and personalize your own home movies. All of this can help you on school projects, work and businesses. The cheapest computer these days runs around $500 with medium quality computers at about $1000. High quality computers run $2000 or more. The cheaper models don’t contain all the new items that the better ones have such as DVD burners. Some don’t even have CD burners or DVD players! So when buying a computer, make sure it will do what you want it to do.

This Week in History -- Feb 3,
1959 The day the music died By Heather Mondloch One night, a plane took off
from When the plane crashed, it took
the lives of three rock and roll legends, performers Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson. The pilot, Roger Peterson, also died. As
Don McLean wrote in his classic music parable, American Pie, it was
"the day the music died." J. P. Richardson, known as The
Big Bopper to his fans, was a Texas D.J. who found recording success and fame
in 1958 with the song Charles "Buddy” Holly and
his band, The Crickets, had a number one hit in.1957 with the tune That'll
Be The Day. This success was followed by other hits such as Peggy Sue.

Performing in concert was very
profitable. The three performers were part of "The Winter Dance Party
Tour". The tour planned to cover
24 cities in three short weeks (January 23 - February 15). Holly would be the biggest headliner.
Waylon Jennings, Holly’s friend from The tour bus
had heat when they left, but later on it developed problems. It was so cold onboard that one of the
drummers developed frostbite riding in it.

Biography
of 2pac Shakur
2pac’s first movie appearance was in 1993 in
Erik Dickerson’s film Juice.
Also in 1993 Pac played in a John Singleton’s film with Janet Jackson
called Poetic Justice. In
February of that year, Pac released his second album which went
platinum. (Continued à) |
Many people consider 2pac the best rapper ever. People say he stood for something. Pac claimed thug life was what he
believed in, but the thug he was talking about was not the
dictionary’s version of thug.
He was simply talking about a man from the ghetto succeeding despite
all of life’s obstacles. Pac believed in changing the world and making it a better place to live for everybody. He believed that no one should be poor and have to live in a ghetto. I think Pac would have changed something on this earth if he were still living today. |

Rims & spinners By Joan
Vasquez Spinning Rims are attached to
regular custom wheels using special lug nuts. Once the lug nuts are in place,
the spinning rims have special bolts that thread into the special lug nuts.
This allows the spinning Rims attachment to be mounted.

Stupidity By Desiree Briski In this article you can read about
stupid things people try to get away with.
The sad thing is that these stories are all true. ·
A 22 year old male was arrested for trying
to pass two counterfeit $16 bills! ·
When two service station attendants refused
to hand over cash to an intoxicated robber, he told them that he would call
the police! The attendants still
refused, so robber called the police and then got arrested. ·
Two robbers went into a store and yelled
“nobody move or we will shoot.” Then
one of the robbers moved and the other robber shot his partner killing him. ·
A man was actually killed by his own gas!
The cause for this deadly gas was his diet that consisted of beans and
cabbage and a couple other things. ·
A man awakened to his phone ringing in the
middle of the night. Instead of
grabbing the phone, he grabbed his gun next to the phone. He then held what
he thought was the phone up to his ear and it went off. |
