AARP Driver Safety Program

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) developed this program especially for older drivers.  Taking this class will help you improve your driving skills and develop safe defensive driving techniques.  Minnesota state law requires all insurance companies to give a 10% premium reduction on policies of private passenger vehicle insurance to anyone 55 years of age and over who has completed an accident prevention course such as this.  Please note that first time participants must take either the 8-hour 55 Alive or Minnesota Safety Council Driving Course.  After taking the first course, participants may take the 4-hour course every three years thereafter. Pre-registration is required and you must bring your current driver's license and AARP membership card with you to class.  Early Registration Discount does not apply to these classes.
