Parents Advocating for Students’ Success (PASS)
Community Education, along with the schools and other community agencies have implemented PASS to encourage parents to be involved and help them take a participatory role in their child’s education. The program is based on the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) program with the philosophy that all parents love their children and want a better future for them. This course consists of nine classes over nine weeks. It is hoped that by parents completing the program they will be able to create a home learning environment, navigate the school system, collaborate with teachers, counselors, and principals, encourage college attendance, and support a child’s emotional and social development. Transportation and child-care are provided.
