Young adolescents are faced with many challenges.  These challenges can affect their ability to achieve their full academic potential.  The school counselor’s primary task is to help all students become better learners by providing a comprehensive program of academic, personal/social, and career counseling.  School counselors work in a variety of different roles.  They are first and foremost advocates for students.  School counselors work with school staff, parents, and other professionals to help each student achieve their full potential.  My ultimate goal is to help all students get the most out of school and life by assisting them in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.
