Microsoft Word, Internet Searching, PowerPoint, Plagiarism,
MLA format, Microsoft Excel, Movie Maker, Timed Tests, Typing Contests, and
Websites. Students will be working
with a Vista Operating System. REQUIRED
MATERIAL: pencil or pen, notebook,
folder EVALUATION: Students will be expected to complete all
daily work on time. Most of the
assignments completed in this class will be project based. In addition, you will be asked to take quizzes
and demonstrate the ability to type using the proper techniques learned in
class. ·
60% will be daily work ·
20% will be Keyboardiing ·
20% will be quizzes/tests GRADING SCALE: 100-90 A 89-80 B 79-70 C 69-60 D 59 or lower F EXPECTATIONS: ·
Respect yourself, others, and other’s property. THIS INCLUDES THE
COMPTUERS AND ANY EQUIPMENT YOU USE. ·
Listen to directions the FIRST TIME. Do not talk while others
are speaking (that includes me or your classmates). ·
Be prompt, prepared, and ready to learn. (pencil, notebook,
folder) ·
Be verbally and physically considerate of others. ·
No gum, food, or drinks in the computer lab ·
Do not play on the computer while teacher is talking ·
Give your best effort at all times. CHEATING: Absolutely no cheating will be tolerated. There is no credit given for cheating or for
those who have a part in the cheating. ATTENDANCE: You are expected to come to class every day and on time. If you are absent, please get a slip from
the office for me to sign. You are
responsible for any days that you miss. LATE WORK: Late work will be accepted one week after the assignment was
due. CLASSROOM PROCEDURES: ·
Procedure for beginning of the period: Be seated in your assigned seat, at your
assigned computer or desk, with your folder, pencil, and other materials
needed. ·
Procedure for Dismissal at end of the period: You must properly close all computer
applications that you have been using, throw away any and all trash that you
have generated, put your books and folders away, and remain at your assigned
seat until the bell rings. Push in your chairs when you leave.
