Parent Event Hosted at Prairie Elementary – September 16th
Independent School District 518 will be hosting a parent night covering the district’s crisis response plan as well as featuring a presentation from Julia Cook. Cook is a children’s book author who will be discussing modern parenting techniques. The event will take place on Monday, September 16th. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with an ALICE and crisis response presentation by ISD 518 administration to begin at 6:15 p.m. After the crisis response presentation, guest Julia Cook will present on modern parenting in the 21st century.
Cook has authored many children’s books including two that will be used to help teach crisis response strategies to kindergarten through 5th grade students at ISD 518. Families with students in any ISD 518 facility are welcome to attend the event. Childcare will be available. The ALICE and crisis response presentation by ISD 518 administration will be translated into Spanish. English and Spanish handouts will be available. Please enter using the doors by the gymnasium.
