PASS (Parents Advocating for Student Success) Classes
District 518 offers PASS classes each year to help parents become more familiar with the local school system. Through these classes parents gain a better understanding of the importance of their involvement in their child’s educational journey. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child’s education, the child tends to have higher grades and test scores; have better attendance and complete homework more consistently. Also youth from diverse cultural backgrounds tend to do better when parents and professionals collaborate to bridge the gap between the culture at home and in the school.
