Introduction to Literature Concurrent Enrollment

Two Terms          Grades 11, 12          Elective

Prerequisite: placement through assessment test or prior college coursework with MN West.

This course studies the elements, forms, and content of fiction, drama, and poetry. The course aims to introduce students to various genres of literature, with an emphasis on critical reading strategies and reading analysis. Topics may include literature associated with specific regions, historical periods, subcultures, economic groups, or social movements. Assignments include readings, brief literary reflections, a literary presentation, annotated bibliographies, and a group research paper.
