This course offers a fascinating look at the common threads woven through world myths and folktales in addition to the roles they have played throughout history. Students will be responsible for daily reading, active class participation, several projects, and a final group paper. Readings will include Greek and Norse myths, The Hobbit, and excerpts from several epics including The Iliad, The Odyssey, Sundiata, and Gilgamesh.
