|Welcome to a world of exploration, problem solving, and inquiry…welcome to 3rd grade!|
Third grade is a transition year where students are able to put their knowledge into action. Our masterful team of 3rd grade teachers offers opportunities for our excitable and inquisitive students to move to the next level in reading, math, writing, science and social studies. Third graders are interested in learning with others and exploring the world around them. We enhance these interests through our many field trips which include Prairie Justice Center, Pioneer Village, Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science and much more! Our principal subjects are reading and math. In reading we continue to focus on developing comprehension skills as well as identifying plot, setting and the main characters in a story. We are also diligent in fostering the major interest that most students take in reading at this age. In math students continue to expand on math skills such as addition and subtraction, as well as learning new skills such as multiplication and division. We look forward to our continual journey with these delightful and explosive explorers…they make the journey of learning fun and rewarding. Let the exploring begin!
