Recent HonorsOver the past decade, the WHS Trojan Band has captured several Parade Grand Championships, Sweepstakes and People’s Choice Awards as well as caption awards for guard, drumline winds, commanders and visuals, both regionally and nationally, including the Outback Bowl, Tampa, FL; Hollywood Christmas Parade, Hollywood, CA; McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Chicago, IL; Anoka Halloween Parade, Anoka, MN; Area Lakes Festival of Bands, Chester, SD; River City Band Festival, Chamberlain, SD; Battle of the Bands, Lake Crystal, MN; Tri-State Band Festival, Luverne, MN; Festival of Bands, USA, Sioux Falls, SD; Algona Band Day, Algona, IA and the Waseca Marching Classic, Waseca, MN.

Band Background: The Marching Trojans are proud to represent the City of Worthington and Independent School District 518. Under the direction of Jon Loy, the ‘Spirit of Worthington’ Trojan Marching Band is part of a collaborative music program at WHS where students can participate in any of the 10-performance and non-performance based music classes currently offered including the award-winning Worthington HS Concert Band, Concert Choir and Orchestra.
