Open Enrollment April 22 – 30, 2024

Enrollment for benefits will be passive this year. This means, if you do nothing during open enrollment, you benefits (Excluding HSA elections and Flexible Spending Accounts (both Medical and Dependent Care)) will rollover to the new plan year.

It is Highly Encouraged that you check you District 518 email for your current benefit elections and further information on how to make changes in the benefit system. Now is the time to change, drop, or add to your employee benefits for the July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025, plan year. It’s also a great time to ensure you have all your beneficiaries updated for any applicable coverage(s).

In Building Availability: We will not be taking appointments this year. Please stop in when it works for you if you have questions or attend a presentation time for an overview of the plans. We will have limited staff available at the buildings. This year we highly encourage you to access the system on your own.

District Office Appointments: HR Staff will also be available at the District Office during open enrollment. To Schedule an appointment, use the link below to see their availability. Once you are on the site, click on Open Enrollment > pick amongst the 3 HR/Payroll staff > and then see / select a time that works for you.

Overview

Worthington ISD 518 encourages the health and financial well-being of its employees by providing access to quality and affordable healthcare. Eligible employees have access to Worthington ISD 518’s comprehensive benefits program.

Employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week and are at least age 18 years old are eligible to participate in the benefits program. Employees working 30 hours or more per week are considered full time.

  • The insurance plans run over a fiscal calendar: July 1- June 30
  • Deductibles run over a calendar year: January 1- December 31
  • New Hires: Coverage begins the first of the month following date of hire.
  • Current Employees: Changes are made during the annual open enrollment period and become effective on July 1.
  • You cannot make any changes to your benefits during the year, unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

ISD 518 partners with Professional Enrollment Concepts (PEC) through National Insurance Services to offer access to qualified insurance specialist. To enroll in coverages ISD 518 eligible employees will call the PEC Benefit Service Center to speak with a benefit counselor or will enroll through the employee self-serve portal.
