Mrs. Madsen

My name is Mrs. Madsen.  After graduating from Heron Lake-Okabena-Lakefield, I began my college career at Worthington Community College (now MN West) and then transferred to Bemidji State University where I earned my B.S. degree in Elementary Education (K-6) with a specialist area of Special Education. From there, I continued my education at Mankato State University to become licensed in Emotional/Behavioral disabilities and earning my Master’s degree in Specific Learning Disabilities. I have been with District 518 since 2000; starting in Special Education and recently moving to a general education classroom. My current area of focus is 6th grade Reading/Communication Arts (English), but I have also taught Math and Geography.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and three boys, as well as my extended family and friends. In addition to raising a family and teaching at WMS, I am a volunteer EMT for my home community, teach CPR/First Aid for the American Heart Association and teach a 5th grade Faith Formation class.
