ALC News

From November 9-10, 5 Worthington ALC students, Kevin Velasco, Saul Reynaga, Anahi Rodriguez, Michelle Ramirez, and Thalia Gonzalez, attended the annual MAAP STARS Fall Leadership Conference. These students were selected to attend the conference due to the leadership that they show at school.

In addition, Anahi Rodriguez ran a campaign to become a 2016-2017 State MAAP STARS officer. Her campaign involved reaching out and talking to students from other schools at the conference and giving a speech to 200+ students and advisors. Anahi was selected as 1 of the 5 state officers this year from a pool of 13 officer elects. We are very proud of Anahi for this honor. Congratulations!

MAAP STARS visit the State Capital

On Wednesday, March 30th, 3 MAAP STARS students traveled to the MN State Capitol to meet with their local Senator, Bill Weber, and Representative, Rod Hamilton. This annual trip is designed to make legislators aware of alternative programs and their function. Each student represented Worthington exceedingly well and left feeling accomplished and inspired to continue making a difference!
