SOOM CHANDASWANG



Soom Chandaswang is the Achievement & Integration Coordinator. She has been at the Collaborative for 7 years, but this is her first year of taking the leadership role at NCIC. Soom is fluent in Lao and English. Her family are from Laos. They were refugees in Thailand for 15 years. Soom was born in the refugee camp. Soom uses her life experiences as an immigrant to inspire youth and others in her community. Her family has been living in Worthington for 27 years. NANCY LANDEROS

 

Nancy Landeros is the Integration Cultural Liaison. Her duties are to collect data for state reports and office management. JAIDY KOLANDER

Jaidy Kolander is a Bilingual Program Aide for the Nobles County Integration Collaborative. Jaidy is originally from Colombia. She started working at NCIC in October of 2004. Jaidy’s responsibilities include office assistance, program planning, translation and interpreting services, and family support efforts. AIDA SIMON

Aida Simon is a Bilingual Program Aide who has worked for the Nobles County Integration Collaborative since January 2004. Aida is originally from Eritrea. Aida’s responsibilities include assisting with El Sistema a music program for 3rd-5th grade students, translation and interpreting services, and family support efforts. Jasmine Soto


Jasmine Soto is a part-time Bilingual Program Aide. She assists with the El Sistema music program as well as other NCIC youth programs. She is currently taking college courses though MNWest Community & Technical College. She is fluent in Spanish and has experience working with youth through NCIC. Rachel VanDyke is a Youth Development Leader. She coordinates the 7th & 8th grade Odyssey program after-school and assists in classrooms at the Worthington Middle School. Rachel has worked at the YMCA as a lifeguard and an instructor for swimming lessons. She also worked as a paraprofessional at the Prairie Elementary and Worthington Middle School. Chansouk Duangapai is a Youth Development Leader. He coordinates Fusion an after-school program for high school students. The program focuses on cultural awareness, leadership development, academic success, civic engagement, and college & career readiness. He aslo assists in classrooms at the Worthington High School. Chansouk is a graduate from MN West and he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from the University of Minnesota. Kayla Ackerman is a Youth Development Leader. She coordinates Dynamic 507 an after-school program for high school students that mainly focus on college & career readiness but also focus on other areas such as cultural awareness, leadership development, academic success, and civic engagement. She also assist in classrooms at Worthington High School. Kayla attended SDSU where she completed a B.S. degree in Human Development & Family Studies.
