The First Day of Classes for ISD 518’s 2020-2021 School Year Will Be Tuesday, September 8th.

Independent School District 518 Return to Education Plan Preview 2020-2021 School Year

THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES FOR ISD 518’S 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH.

The Independent School District 518 School Board met on August 6th in the WHS Media Center following all social distancing guidelines to discuss moving the start date of the 2020-2021 school year. Moving the start date of classes to September 8th was approved by the school board in this meeting.

The move of the start date benefits students and staff as it allows for more planning and preparation time ahead of the arrival of students. As ISD 518 looks to begin the year in a hybrid learning model, it is critical that all staff have time to prepare curriculum, technology, and district facilities for the arrival of students.

ISD 518 staff and administration look forward to providing students with an equitable education using whatever method of delivery is recommended by state guidelines. To continue to achieve excellence in education, staff will use the extra days before September 8th to prepare to reach for the 2020-2021 school year.
