All ISD 518 Students to Return to Hybrid Learning Model on January 4, 2021

The ISD 518 School Board has voted to move to a hybrid learning model for all ISD 518 students beginning January 4, 2021. Worthington Middle School and Worthington High School students will be in a 25% model, with students attending class in-person one day a week and distance learning the remaining days. Prairie Elementary and Learning Center students will be in a 50% model, with students attending class in-person two days a week and distance learning the remaining days. This is the same learning model that was utilized at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

The board also discussed a possible move to a 50% plan for WMS and WHS students towards the end of January. The goal of the board in moving towards less restrictive models is to reach a full in-person learning model by the middle of February, if it is possible to do so safely. All changes to less restrictive models need to be approved by the ISD 518 School Board. If needed due to health and safety concerns, the district may move to a more restrictive model without board approval.
