Other Football – Signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers football pro team of the NFL after graduation until he entered the service during World War II, playing 4 years as quarterback.

Wendell, his wife, Marge, and two sons live in Memphis, Tennessee. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1992.

Don married Marcia Schissel.  They have 3 children, Jeff, Scott, and Teresa.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and loves the outdoors. Don passed away in 2014. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1990.
