Track – five time letter-winner, six time state place winner – 2nd place Long Jump, 3rd place 100 Hurdles and Long Jump, 4th place 800 M Relay, 5th place 800 Relay and Long Jump; school record in the Long Jump, 100 M Hurdles, High Jump, 300 M Hurdles, 200 M Dash, 4X200 Relay; member of Conference Champion team three times; member of Region Champion team in 1984

Katy and her husband, J.D., have a son, Jack.  She is a bilingual teacher for Minneapolis Public Schools.  Her parents are Dave and Sue Suman. She was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1998.

Greg and his wife, Kristi, have a son, Colin.  He is a Sales Manager for North Star Steel and resides in Eagan, MN. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1998.

Career – Radio Broadcaster 1949-1987;  Miles City, Montana; Helena and Great Falls, Montana, Aberdeen, South Dakota, Sports director at KWOA Radio from 1968 to 1987; Started the KWOA “Coaches’ Corner” radio show

Paul and his wife, Dorothy have two children: Christy and Doug.  Paul is retired and resides in Missoula, Montana where he is an full-time Montana Grizzlies sports fan. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1998.

Steve Held – At Large

WHS Class of 1964

Basketball – Manager (4 years)

As a manager, Steve was always willing to do his best in carrying out his duties.  Since 1964, Steve has continued to support Trojan athletics by being their number one fan.  His love for sports is indicated by his reading of all 50 pages of every issue of “The Sporting News”.

Steve worked at Sterling Drug and in the WHS Cafeteria. Steve passed away in 2012. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1997.

Alice Held – At Large

College – Moorhead State University

Alice supports WHS activities of every type and has attended 49 state basketball tournaments.  At the Held household, it isn’t a case of “Are we going to the game?’ it’s “What time are we going?”

Alice and her husband, Shirl, have two children: Pam and Steve. Alice passed away in 2010. She was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1997.

Joan Fagerness – WHS Class of 1976

Volleyball

Basketball–  letter winner; 2 time All conference; Played in the first Minnesota State Girls Basketball Tournament

Track – letter winner; 2 time State Track & Field Meet participant Shot Put; 4th place Shot Put State Track Meet, Arnold T. Sanderson Best Field Events Award; WHS school record of the Girls Shot Put

Awards – Female Athlete of the Year ‘76

College – Mankato State University – Track, 3 years, 3 time qualifier for the Nationals; Pursued a degree in Criminal Justice; University of Minnesota – Track

Joan was in the U.S. Armed Services from March 1981 to February 1987, in which she was a member of the All-Army track team, and at one point was ranked 14th in the nation for the women’s Shot Put. In 1988, Joan was hired as the first female firefighter/paramedic in the 100 year history of the Hawaii County Fire Department, and is still currently employed there.  Joan is the daughter of Lee and Armella Fagerness and resides in Hilo, Hawaii. She was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1996.

Wayne Klumper – WHS Class of 1968

Football – letter winner; Southwest All-Conference; Co-captain; All-State Honorable Mention; Southwest Conference Champion football team; All-time WHS football leaders in scoring (season & career) and rushing yards (game and season)

Baseball – letter winner; All-Conference team; Most Valuable Player; District 8 Championship

Activities – Youth Sportsmens’ Club; Trojannaires; 1967 Homecoming King

College – Worthington Community College – Football, Baseball; Mankato State University – Baseball

Wayne has dedicated his life’s work to the young people of Worthington.  He coached the Worthington VFW baseball team for 3 seasons.  His teams played in two straight trips to the VFW State Tournament, placing third in 1971 and second in 1972.  He has spent 24 years as a YMCA employee and was the Executive Director of the Mitchell, SD YMCA from ’73-77 and has been the Physical/Endowment Director at the Worthington YMCA from 1977. He has also served as an officer in the WAYBA baseball association and the Trojan Booster Club.

Wayne and his wife, Dea, are the parents of three children: Tresse, Daniel, and Joseph. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1996.

Helen Thompson – At Large

College – Hamline University

“Loyalty” is the word that comes to mind when you think of Helen Thompson.  She has followed all WHS sports, music, and drama since 1947 and notes she has “enjoyed scorekeeping for girls and boys basketball games at home and from Ed Funk’s radio broadcasts for out-of-town”. Helen has watched all 44 Trojan Relays and has attended 48 WHS Athletic Banquets. Helen has been a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church for 44 years, worked in District 518 Superintendent Durbahn’s office several years and the office at Heles Supply for 16 years.

Helen and Ken are the parents of two daughters; Claudia (Mrs. Dennis Martens) WHS Class of 1967 and Anne (Mrs. Lowell Kutzbach) WHS Class of 1976. She was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 1996.
