Worthington Esports Valorant Team

On May 13, 2022, Worthington Esports Valorant Team attended the Minnesota Varsity League (MNVL) Playoffs held at Minnesota State University Mankato. The team ended their 7-week regular season and played their hearts out for 5.5 hours for a chance to compete at the first ever MN State Official High School Esport Tournament. Out of 28 teams from all around the state, only 6 qualified and we are proud and excited to announce that we qualified! We ended placing 2nd place in Group C. This win secured a spot for the team in the state championship to take place on June 4th at the Mall of America to play against the best of the best and see if we have what it takes to be the best in state!

For those who do not know what Esports is, here is a brief description:“The Worthington Esports team is an electronic sports team that participates in a highly competitive tournament using multiplayer-based videogames in the state of Minnesota. The team competes in the Minnesota Varsity League (MNVL), the home for Minnesota High School Esports with around 50 registered schools and over 800 athletes. This league creates an opportunity for students to ADVANCE esports skills in competition and industry, BELONG to a community, and COMPETE at a varsity level”
