Worker’s Compensation

We’re excited to announce that our workers’ compensation platform has transitioned to SFM (The Work Comp Experts). This change is part of our ongoing effort to provide better support and resources for workplace safety and injury management as this will make reporting workplace injuries faster, easier, and more efficient.

What does this mean for you?

  • All workers’ compensation claims and related resources will now be managed through SFM.
  • You’ll have access to updated tools, forms, and support materials to streamline the process.
  • Additional information about workplace injury reporting, claim management, and safety resources can be found directly on sfmic.com.

 What’s New?

  • No more paper First Report of Injury forms.
  • Immediate injury reporting by phone with SFM.
  • Access to a nurse for medical guidance when needed.

📞 How to Report a Workplace Injury

  1. If it’s an emergency, call 911 or have someone take you to the nearest emergency facility.
  2. Notify your supervisor/principal or building secretary right away, even if the injury seems minor.
  3. Call the SFM Work Injury Hotline: (855) 675-3501 together with your supervisor/principal or building secretary.
  4. Provide the requested information (employer name, location, and policy number) for accurate reporting. This information will be provided to the building secretaries.

With this new system, you can report an injury immediately—no waiting and no forms to fill out.

 Questions

1. Do I still need to complete any forms?
No. Calling the hotline with your supervisor/principal/building secretary replaces the First Report of Injury form.

2. What if I’m unsure if I need medical care?
When you call the hotline, you’ll have the option to speak with a nurse who can help determine if treatment is needed.

3. Can I call the hotline alone?
No. You should call the hotline with your supervisor/principal or building secretary to ensure all required information is provided.

4. What if the injury happens outside of regular hours?
You should still call the hotline immediately. SFM has staff available 24/7 to take your report.
