Freshman Composition ESL
One Term Grades 10, 11, 12 Elective
This course is designed for high-intermediate and advanced English language students who are eligible for ESL services. Students who need 9th grade Communication credit and students who need to focus on reading and writing skills in preparation for the graduation component of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment are urged to register. ESL Composition will integrate the Six Trait Writing model and assessment rubrics with paragraph modes and personal essay writing in response to short stories, myths, legends, poetry, and magazine, newspaper, or Internet media. ESL Freshman Composition and ESL Freshman Literature are prerequisites to higher level Communication Arts courses.
