About Our Teachers
Mr. Burns
I am a Worthington native and 2018 WHS graduate. I attended Minnesota West for my associates degree and Minnesota State University, Mankato for my bachelor’s degree in German. I started teaching German and Communication Arts at Worthington Senior High School in 2023.
While attending WHS, I was a Worthington-Crailsheim scholarship recipient in the 2016-2017 academic year. This unique opportunity for students has become a life passion of mine. I serve as the president of the Worthington-Crailsheim committee and have been in that position since January 2023.
A former sports editor at The Globe newspaper in Worthington. I enjoy keeping active with local southwest Minnesota athletics. My favorite sports include soccer, gymnastics, basketball and baseball. Go Trojans!
Mrs. Hinojosa
Hello, my name is Leyvi Hinojosa, and I teach Spanish and EL at Worthington High School. I have been part of the Worthington School District since 2000 when I moved here from Mexico as a 7th grader. After graduating from High School, I worked as a paraprofessional and interpreter for the district, and now I am here as a teacher.
I graduated from MSU, Mankato with a bachelors in Spanish Education in the fall of 2014 and with a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) in the spring of 2023. I’ve had the privilege of studying abroad in Spain and completing my student teaching in Costa Rica and in St. Peter, Minnesota. My favorite part of teaching is creating bonds with students and teaching language and culture through fun and relevant activities.
My favorite hobbies are playing volleyball, eating at new restaurants, and traveling.
Mr. Barduson
I am Paul Barduson. I am from Pipestone, MN and I went to Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated in 2011. I teach ESL and Spanish at the high school. I started teaching in 2014 and I am also a golf coach for Worthington which I started in 2013.
I got married in 2013 to my wife LeAnn who is also a teacher at WHS. My favorite hobbies are traveling and playing sports.
