One Term Grades 10, 11, 12 Elective

Food labeling, buzz words, and Netflix Documentaries have all contributed to misunderstandings and misconceptions when it comes to agriculture and food. In this class, we will look at where our food comes from and how it gets to the grocery store. Hot topics in agriculture will be studied and examined including Genetically Modified Organisms, organic farming, and plant-based meat. We will visit area farms and businesses that produce, market, and sell the food we eat. While learning to be educated consumers at the grocery store, we will tell the story of agriculture through various marketing avenues. Students will create a website, video, news article, and Blog to document the vast agricultural industry and teach others about where their food comes from.
