Total Fitness 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6

Total Fitness I

One Term       Grades 10, 11, 12       Elective

Total Fitness I is a participation-based course. The concentration of this course will be on a comprehensive weight and speed training program. There is an emphasis focused on active participation, personal fitness, as well as strength and athletic development. The purpose of this course is to provide each student with a strong foundation of meaningful physical activity and to establish good habits for lifetime practices. This class requires students to change their clothes.


Total Fitness II

One Term       Grades 10, 11, 12        Elective

Pre-requisite – Total Fitness 1

Total Fitness II is a participation-based course. The class will include the same basic strength and speed training as covered in Total Fitness I. The focus of the class will be on improving athletic performance factors. High intensity levels of training will be done focusing on development of strength, speed, agility, and quickness. This class requires students to change their clothes.


Total Fitness III

One Term          Grades 10, 11, 12          Elective

Pre-requisite – Total Fitness I and II

Total Fitness III is a participation-based course. This course provides further opportunities for students to explore various weight training programs. Students will use the knowledge from Total Fitness I and II to create a training program tailored to their own condition and needs. Students will also receive more in-depth instruction on sports nutrition and sport specific training. This class requires students to change their clothes.


Total Fitness IV

One Term          Grades 10, 11, 12          Elective

Pre-requisite – Total Fitness I, II and III

Total Fitness IV is a participation-based course. This course will provide students with an opportunity to learn variations of core body lifts. Students will apply principles of health-related fitness and F.I.T.T into their strength training programs. The students will continue to develop and improve their speed, agility and quickness while utilizing the sports-related fitness model. This course will expand on knowledge and skills learned from Total Fitness I, II and III courses. This class requires students to change their clothes.


Total Fitness V

One Term          Grades 10, 11, 12          Elective

Pre-requisite – Total Fitness I, II, III and IV

Total Fitness V is a participation-based course. This course provides students with an opportunity to build upon one’s speed and strength training principles. Students will continue to develop and improve their speed, agility, and quickness skills. Students will learn Olympic lifts including multiple push press variations. This course will expand on knowledge and skills learned from Total Fitness I, II, III and IV courses. This class requires students to change their clothes.


Total Fitness VI

One Term          Grades 10, 11, 12          Elective

Pre-requisite – Total Fitness I, II, III, IV and V

Total Fitness VI is a participation-based course. This course provides students with an opportunity to build upon the speed and speed training principles. Students will continue to develop and improve their speed, agility, and quickness skills. Students will learn Olympic lifts including jerk and snatch; and develop their own strength program utilizing Olympic lifts. This course will expand on skills learned in Total Fitness I, II, III, IV and V courses. This class requires students to change their clothes.
