Algebra I A & B

Two Terms             Grades 9, 10           

*Required for incoming HS students who have not demonstrated mastery of WMS 8th grade math with a grade of C- or better.

Algebra is the language of mathematics. In this first-year course of algebra, students will describe patterns of all kinds, work with formulas, discuss unknowns in problems and graph ideas. Topics covered include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division within equations; inequalities, writing and graphing slope, exponents, and polynomials. Compound inequalities, systems of equations and exponentials will also be introduced. This course will receive HS elective credit but not HS math credit.
