Algebra I A & B
Two Terms Grades 9, 10, 11 Elective
Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation from middle school or teacher recommendation at high school.
Algebra is considered to be the language of mathematics. In this first year course of algebra, students will describe patterns of all kinds, work with formulas, discuss unknowns in problems and graph ideas. Topics covered include: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division within equations; inequalities, writing and graphing slope, exponents, and polynomials. Compound inequalities, systems of equations and exponentials will also be introduced. This course will receive HS elective credit but not HS math credit.
