Celebration of Young Musicians Festival Held March 9 at Prairie Elementary

Worthington Prairie Elementary was the chosen festival site again for southwest Minnesota, for The Celebration of Young Musicians, held on Friday, March 9. This music festival of selected youth in grades 4-6 from collaborative and partnership schools from southwest Minnesota featured a guest clinician and several master teachers who worked with students throughout this daylong experience. Participating schools this year included: Round Lake-Brewster, Heron Lake-Okabena, Adrian, Mountain Lake and Worthington. Their local music teachers chose the youth who participated in this festival or they were members of the Worthington Celebration Chorus. The Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) sponsors the Celebration of the Young Musicians. The festival concluded with a performance of four to six choral pieces, as well as additional performances by other musical selections, learned throughout that day.
