Community Education publishes a quarterly catalog with a wide variety of enrichment programs designed for people of all ages.  The catalog is also a resource of information about activities hosted by other local non-profit organizations. 

The Winter 2019-20 Community Classes & Activities catalog was mailed on December 5, 2019.

Registration Information

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
(During the summer, our office closes at 3:00 p.m. on Fridays.)

 Click on the link highlighted in red below to register securely and immediately on the internet. We accept VISA, Master Card and Discover.  If you use our online registration system, you may request an e-mail reminder prior to start of the class.

Mail your registration form with check, money order or credit/debit card information to:

Call in your registration with payment information to (507) 376-6105.  A call is registered the same as the current day’s mail. All phone registrations must be paid for at the time of registration with VISA, Master Card, Discover card or debit card.

People may come to the Community Education office at the West Learning Center, 117 Eleventh Avenue, Room 134, to register in person.

If there is room in a class, an individual may register for a class at the door.  A $5 processing fee will be added to the price of the class for all registrations made the day of the class or thereafter. 

Classes are filled on a first-paid, first-served basis.  Payments must accompany registrations for the enrollment to be complete. Registrations received without a payment will be put on hold until the payment is received.  A $5 processing fee will be charged for registrations received on the day the class begins or later.  Registrations must be completed before the second session of a class is held, in order to participate in a class.

You are registered for a class unless we notify you otherwise. You will be notified if your choice is not available. Occasionally a class may fill as your registration is being processed. Should this happen, you will receive a personal call from us.

It is our pledge to provide you, our customer with a gratifying experience through your participation in our classes. Because we have confidence in the quality of our product, the Community Education Advisory Council and staff are prepared to offer you a money back guarantee. (Processing fees for late enrollments will not be refunded.)

Photo and Video Useage

District 518 Community Education and its representatives may take photos or video images of participants in their classes/activities.  These images can be used for the District 518 Community Education Classes & Activities catalog, webpages, social media or other promotions.  If you do not want your or your child's photo used for such purposes, please visit our webpage to complete the Denial of Photo Use form.  Completed forms may be mailed to District 518 Community Education, 117 11th Avenue, Suite 3, Worthington, MN  56187.

PASS Classes Offered in January and February

District 518 will be offering “Parents Advocating for Student Success” (PASS) classes in January and February, at West Learning Center. The upcoming PASS classes are for parents who have children in Kindergarten through grade 8. PASS continues to adapt to the changing needs of families in District 518. Since 2006, this program has served to inform, empower and inspire parents to take an active role in helping their children succeed in school. The 2-session classes will be about “Expectations and Structure Help Children Learn” and “Why You Should Promote Positive Relationships and Set a Good Example”. Sessions are offered in English, Spanish and Karen on Tuesday evenings or Friday mornings. For more information or to sign up for classes, call 507-370-3682. Worthington Leadership Perspectives

Worthington Leadership Perspectives is a leadership training designed to develop leaders who are informed, motivated and qualified. This is a collaborative effort by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and District 518 Community Education to engage and equip a new group of residents to step into leadership roles in the Worthington area. Join us for a year of personal growth and leadership development! Living Your Best Life Event - May 8, 2019

This year’s “Living Your Best Life” event will include a presentation with keynote speaker, Angela Kennecke, Sioux Falls KELO television news anchor, held Wednesday, May 8 at the American Reformed Church, 1720 Burlington Avenue, 3 pm – 8 pm. Cost is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Your $12 advance fee will allow you to join in multiple breakout sessions, visit local business and agency booths, register for door prizes and enjoy a light meal catered by On Q BBQ of Round Lake, MN. Keynote speaker, Angela Kennecke, will be speaking of the opioid epidemic’s effect on the family and her family funded charity, Emily’s Hope.
