Music

“To further the appreciation of culture among all the people, to increase respect for the creative individual, to widen participation by all the processes and fulfillments of art – this is one of the fascinating challenges of these days.”
~John F. Kennedy

Through intense participation, Worthington High School music students engage in study and performance of a variety of musical styles, literature, and technique. Collaborative partnerships with clinicians, artists in residence, and regional/state honor ensembles allow our student musicians’ excellent opportunities for growth and discovery. WHS music students can participate in any number of the 11 performance and non-performance based music classes including the award winning Concert Band, Concert Choir, and Orchestra. Over 80% of our performing musicians participate in two music ensembles with many students participating in all three disciplines. The confidence gained in performance ensembles compliments student leadership and academic achievement at WHS.
