Applied Math A

One Term             Grades 11, 12             Meets Requirement

Prerequisite: Algebra 2 or Concepts of Algebra 2

Students will study mathematics that will most directly affect their day-to-day lives. The course will have extensive applications that revolve around proportional reasoning, measurement, and percentages. Students will also study data analysis which includes data collection, bias, samples and populations, and measures of center and variation. In addition, the class will also focus on the variety of graphs and their uses in displaying data. Students will additionally become familiar with standard deviation, linear models and regression, normal distributions, percentiles, and z-scores.
