One Term Grades 11, 12 Meets Requirement
Prerequisite: Algebra 2 or Concepts of Algebra 2
Students will study mathematics that will most directly affect their day-to-day lives. This course will focus heavily on vital concepts prevalent in probability, statistics, and financial mathematics. Students will determine outcomes of simple, compound, independent, and dependent events. Other areas of study include calculating conditional probabilities and analyzing binomial probabilities. Students will further learn to calculate permutations and combinations and apply them in calculating probabilities. Students will also study financial mathematics with the goal of managing money in the most effective ways possible. Major topics include investing and saving money, credit, loans, taxes, and budgets.
