The Latino American Story
One Term Grade 10, 11, 12 Elective
This course traces the journey of Latinos in the United States, 1500’s-present. It follows a chronological study of the people, politics and culture of Latin American societies from Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the countries of Central and South America. Our journey will study the historical accounts and personal stories, from the legacy of colonialism to the development of national identities, to tradition and reinvention, to the modern political and racial anguish and celebration. Our journey’s end will celebrate the cultural diversity and complexities of the Latin American Story.
