English 11 A & B
Two Terms Grades 11, 12 Required
In English 11, students will enhance their reading, writing, and communication skills. Students will read and analyze a variety of classic and contemporary texts, emphasizing American Literature and writers. In addition to reading and analyzing, students will write multiple papers and speak and present. This course takes students through literary and nonfiction texts that explore how individuals cultivate identity through interactions with their environment, each other, and conceptualizations. The major focus is 21st century skill development, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. At the completion of the course, students will be well-versed in the skills necessary for rigorous college and career level reading, writing, and speaking.
