Composition Concurrent Enrollment
Two Terms Grades 11, 12 Elective
Prerequisite: placement through assessment test or prior college coursework with MN West.
This course reviews and reinforces basic essay writing principles. The emphasis is on rhetorical modes of development and writing as a process. Students will focus on critical thinking and research as well as the writing skills expected of them in their disciplines of interest. In addition to this, we will discuss genre traits by using texts to analyze stylistic choices and to serve as writing models. Core assignments include several genre-based papers, annotated bibliographies, a research paper, and several writing reflections.
