Environmental Science

One Term Grade 9, 10, 11, 12 Required

Required for Class 2026 and beyond and students in earlier graduating classes who did not complete Physical Science B when it was offered.
Prerequisite: Earth and Space Science or Physical Science A

In Environmental Sciences, students will apply scientific reasoning to explain the patterns and processes that take place in nature and how they are modified by human activity. They will engage with describing environmental processes such as the hydrologic cycle and its impact on Earth’s systems such as the rock cycle and climate. In addition, they will explore how human activity has altered these systems, predicted possible outcomes of these practices, and debated possible solutions for the sustainability of human life on Earth.
