Culture and Cuisine (Advanced Foods)

Level Three Foods course – Successful completion of Level One and Two courses required.
Up to 3 college credits from selective colleges are available. The combination of courses, independent work and a skills test must be completed to earn a credits certificate.

If you enjoy preparing food and experiencing new flavors from around the world, you will enjoy this advanced class. Advanced culinary skills continue from the knowledge gained from the Foods and Nutrition course. Students will gain more advanced skills in food preparation as well as learn about culture and cuisine from other countries. Lab time will provide students ample time to make and try unique foods from other countries. Students will demonstrate food techniques to their peers, travel to see professional occupations in food service, study restaurant management, and practice professional chef techniques.
