Culture and Cuisine (Advanced Foods)
One Term Grades 11, 12 Elective
Prerequisite: Foods & Nutrition or by permission of the instructor.
If you enjoy preparing food and experiencing new flavors from around the world, you will enjoy this class. Advanced culinary skills continue form the knowledge gained in the Foods and Nutrition course. Students will gain more advanced skills in food preparation as well as learn about culture and cuisine from other countries. Lab time will provide students ample time to make and try unique foods from other countries. Students will demonstrate food techniques to their peers, travel to see professional occupations in food service, study restaurant management, and practice professional chef techniques. College credit is available; see Mrs. Bents for explanation.
